TOP PROSPECT STACKED
CAMPS SCHEDULE
Due to demand, Mind The Net goaltending will be offering two Top Prospects Camps during the same week. These are known as "Stacked Camps". Despite the "stacked" schedule there is still ONLY SIX GOALTENDERS ACCEPTED PER CAMP/STACK. This means there is still no more than six goaltenders on the ice, in dryland, classroom and video sessions at one time. ALL students will be able to work with each MTN Head and Lead Instructor throughout the camp.
Top Prospects:
Stack #1
8:00am-9:30am - On ice #1
10:00am-11:30am - Dryland
11:30am-12:00pm - Lunch
12:00pm - 1:30pm - Video
1:30pm - 2:45pm - Classroom
3:45pm-5:15pm - On-ice #2
Modern goaltenders
do more than just stop the puck; they are required to control the
flow of the game. MTN is about keeping the puck out of the
net! Keeping the puck out of the net may involve excellent
rebound control, deflecting a centering pass or directing the breakout.
MTN will enhance the goaltender’s ability to control the game.
MTN recognizes the need
for each goaltender to strive for improvement in all facets of their
game.
Goaltenders are expected
to be leaders on and off the ice. Top Prospect students will be
given the tools to excel up the hockey ranks.
A low 2:1 student to
instructor ratio ensures attention to detail.
All goaltenders
must be established Midget “AAA” or higher.
"Best
goalie camp I have ever been to, in terms of all aspects of goaltending"
Lane - Midget "AAA"
MTN
On The Ice
By using the newest
drills and training techniques, MTN works with each goaltender to
become fundamentally sound and efficient.
MTN uses an analytical
eye to pinpoint ways to add to the existing strengths in each goaltender’s
game. MTN provides many tools that are designed to help each goaltender,
not change them.
All on-ice drills are
done in the defensive zone. The more game-like the drills, the better.
MTN exposes goaltenders
to some of the newest training tools such as screen boards and mini
pucks. To further challenge the goaltender, only Junior, College
and Professional shooters are used.
MTN’s
on-ice workouts are intense, energizing and fun!!
"Having
such high caliber shooters was definitely a plus and
kept the shooting sessions good and competitive. The screen
board and mini pucks were very creative and helpful...
a success overall!"
Graeme - Junior "A"
MTN
Off The Ice
MTN’s hotstove
/ theory sessions provide opportunities for each goaltender to discuss
issues pertaining to goaltending and elite hockey.
Video analysis is used
daily to help the goaltender self-analyze and to provide a framework
for building confidence.
Daily topics include
mental training and preparation, on-ice tactics, off-ice training,
evaluation and self-promotion.
Goaltender specific
dryland training is provided ddaily to challenge and improve goaltender
conditioning.
A high emphasis on the
mental aspect of goaltending is what sets MTN apart from the competition.
"I
have to tell you that [my son] was very impressed with your
goalie camp. He learned a lot, and we have also. Wish we could have
known a lot of these things a few years sooner. We appreciate your
direction and influence."
